The Concept
A social club
built around the table.
Once a month, a small group of 6 to 12 people gathers at one of Thessaloniki's finest restaurants for an evening that goes somewhere unexpected. Three to four courses, three drinks, a locally sourced gift, and a room full of people you haven't met yet. Come every month or just when it calls to you. The group changes. So does the conversation.
The supper club format was born in the United States in the mid-20th century as a way for strangers to gather around a shared table in an intimate setting, somewhere between a dinner party and a restaurant. What made it distinct was the intention: not just to eat, but to meet. That same spirit is amplified here by the Medici Effect: the phenomenon where breakthrough ideas and unexpected connections emerge when people from different fields, backgrounds, and disciplines share a space. It's something your host has long believed in and made a practice of curating.
The conversation format draws from the tradition of the literary and intellectual salon, where curated guests gathered not for small talk, but to exchange ideas on art, culture, philosophy, and life. Every Salonique table comes with prompts designed in that spirit. And yes, Salonique is the French name for Thessaloniki — a city whose history runs deeper than most European capitals dare to claim, and whose story remains far less told than it deserves.
01
Curated, not random
The menu is built around the group's dietary needs. The guest list is kept intentionally small. The right people end up at the same table, every time.
02
One place, fully
The evening unfolds entirely in one carefully chosen restaurant. You arrive, you settle in, and you stay. No rushing between venues, no coats on and off.
03
New faces every time
The guest list shifts each month. You might sit next to an architect, a novelist, or someone who just arrived in the city. Interesting people find each other here.
04
Conversation is part of the menu
Every supper includes table prompts and one small game. Nothing forced. Just the kind of question that makes a stranger feel like an old friend.
Who it's for
Anyone looking for a new way
to make meaningful connections.
Locals
You've lived here long enough to know the city well. This is the version of Thessaloniki you haven't experienced yet: slower, more curated, and genuinely different from anything else on offer.
Couples
Whether it's a first date or you've been together for years, the supper club is an evening that actually gives you something to talk about, at the table and on the way home.
Solo travelers
You want something more than a tour, but just as easy to book. Show up alone, leave with a table full of people you're glad you met.
Expats & newcomers
You've landed in Thessaloniki and you're looking for your people. This is where intellectuals, creatives, and curious minds tend to find each other.

FAQs
Do I have to come every month?
Not at all. The waitlist is simply your way in. Once you're on it, you hear about each month's date on the 20th and decide whether you want to join. Come every month, or only when it calls to you.
Will I know anyone there?
Probably not, and that's the point. The group changes every month. Guests tend to be locals looking for something different, couples wanting a real evening out, solo travelers, and expats who've found their way here. Interesting people, by design.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Note your requirements when you RSVP and your host will confirm. The menu is built around the group, so dietary needs are accounted for before you arrive.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel any time before the 25th at no charge. After payment is made, your spot may be transferred to another guest rather than refunded.
Will the event still happen if only a few people sign up?
The supper club runs with a minimum of 6 guests. If the minimum isn't reached by the 25th, no payment link is sent and you'll hear from your host by email.
Your Host
Events Professional | Thessaloniki
I've been working in food and beverage for over 20 years, across kitchens, event floors, and the kind of long dinners that end at midnight with new friends. I spent a decade planning weddings in San Francisco, which taught me what people actually remember: the moment, the food, the feeling of being genuinely looked after.
Five and a half years ago I moved to Thessaloniki and fell in love with the way this city eats, generously, communally, without ceremony. I've spent years building a community here from scratch. The Supper Club is what that community asked for next: something slower, more curated, and worth dressing up for.
